PSP - best Sales in Japan for 2nd Week

PSP-3000 4GB Entertainment Pack Cancelled
October 27, 2008 - Way, way back in August, Sony announced plans to bring two PSP-3000 bundles to the United States. One was the Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters Entertainment Pack that’s on store shelves as you read this. The other was the 4GB Entertainment Pack that featured a voucher for Everyday Shooter, a Piano Black system, and — you guessed it — a 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo. (more…)
PSP - one of the strongest selling gaming devices
Sony may have experienced weaker earnings this year overall, but at least the PSP division is exceeding company expectations. Yesterday the company revised its annual earnings forecast down sharply from earlier estimates. Sony said it now expected net profit for this year to be ¥150 billion, a 59 percent drop from a year earlier, and 38 percent below the forecast it made in July. The company cited a strong Yen and global economic recession as two of the major reasons for this profit shortfall. (more…)

October 21, 2008 - Message boards across the Internet is lighting up with complaints about the PSP-3000’s much hyped LCD screen. Apparently, some games and videos are popping up interlaced, where the image breaks into line segments. The issue seems to center on fast moving objects. (more…)

Can psp-3000 stand against Homebrew?
Unauthorized hacking of the PSP has been a serious problem for Sony ever since enterprising hackers managed to run unsigned code on the PSP-1000 back in 2005. The ability to revert to an unprotected version of the firmware, and later the ability to install completely custom pirate firmware has enabled some owners to play pirated PSP games downloaded from the internet.
