PSP Go Specifications

It didn’t take long after news of the PSP Go leaked onto the web for more information to emerge. Sony has been setting up its display booths at E3, and close-up pictures of the PSP Go have already surfaced (view below). There are still many unanswered questions about the device, for which we will have to wait for Sony’s E3 press conference on June 3. However, we have managed to gather some juicy information on the official specs of the PSP Go. It will be smaller and lighter than even the PSP 3000. (more…)

A leading psychiatrist at the University of Sydney, Professor Vladan Starcevic, believes that gaming is just as addictive as gambling and tobacco. After conducting a study involving 2000 gamers from all around the globe he has concluded that gaming can lead to depression and other social communication problems. His solution is to have our ‘gaming addiction’ checked out in the same fashion as we have regular health checks. (more…)

When the Nintendo DSi launches in the United States on April 5th, it will come with a hefty price tag of $170. Sony PSP fans will notice that this puts the Nintendo handheld at exactly the same price point as the PSP 3000 core pack, which currently retails for $169.99 in the United States. Excitement for the DS successor couldn’t be any higher as we wait for it to arrive, but does the DSi offer value at its current price? Midway Goes Bankrupt

Mortal Kombat publisher files for Chapter 11 protection amid financial difficulties

After months of financial trouble, including a debt of $240 million to creditors, video-game publisher Midway has announced that they are filing for Chapter 11 protection. This move also follows the publicized sale of media mogul Sumner Redstone’s 87 percent stake in the company (valued at the time at roughly $30 million) for $100,000 to private financier Mark Thomas. Fans of casual, family-friendly games are about to see their circle of fun widen with a slate of new Hasbro-branded digital play experiences on a variety of platforms from EA Inc (NASDAQ: ERTS) in 2009. Leading the charge is SCRABBLE, which rocketed to the No. 1 position on Pogo.com™ with more than 2.5 million players laying down virtual tiles since its June 2008 launch.
