Pills for gamers.. are they trying to kill us?
Whether we like it or not, gamers have generally been split into two camps: casual gamers such as those who enjoy a sporting match of Peggle every once in a while, or who still play the Nintendo Wii. Then there are the so-called hardcore gamers, whose passion for fragging virtual enemies is matched only by the hardness of their Mountain Dew saturated cores. The truly elite now have something even more powerful to keep their game hands going strong: energy supplements. a company calling itself Smith Bryant Labs has developed the product, which it claims to ‘increase mental acuity during the gaming experience’. UMD is still alive a don’t going to die!
Sony is still continuing to highlight its support for the UMD format. At GDC they reportedly claimed that UMD is ‘alive and well’ and noted that it plays an important part of its strategy balancing physical PSP media with digital distribution.

Neo Geo games soon on PSP
Following on the announcement by Hudson that some its Turbo GrafX 16 titles will be ported over to the PSN, we have more great news for retro gamers. According to the latest ESRB listings, SNK will soon be bringing Neo Geo games to the PSP and Playstation 3. The ratings board has spilled the beans on four titles from the retro console: Baseball Stars Professional, Alpha Mission II, League Bowling and Super Sidekicks. Of course, there is also a new stand alone Metal Slug game from SNK for the PSP. While these games aren’t necessarily our first picks from the golden era of the NEO GEO, the company is off to a promising start. Resident Evil gets to the top in Nihon
February 26, 2010 – Sony is on top in Japan. Media Create’s latest sales charts, covering February 15 through February 21, have the PS3 and PSP on top in hardware, and major PS3 and PSP releases on top in software.
On the software front, Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition topped the charts with 143,000 units in its first week. In Japan, Gold Edition, known as Alternative Edition, is PS3-only. Xbox 360 owners, however, have access to the extra content in download form. Read the rest of this entry »
